[S3E16] List of all scenes for Season 3

This is my first reddit post, so please be gentle, but do point out any errors of fact or etiquette I've made.
I've spent some time this week getting ready for the finale episodes by making a list of every scene in every Season 3 episode: what time the scene starts, who's in the scene, and a very limited amount of notes for some scenes. There are probably quite a few errors, and I know I haven't classified all the locations yet (like many Silver Mustang scenes are listed as "LV" instead of "SM").
Comments and corrections are very welcome!
TWIN PEAKS SEASON 3 - SCENES location key: BA - Buenos Aires, Argentina Fa - The Farm FH - Fireman's home (the purple place) GN - Great Northern Hotel (in Twin Peaks) LV - Las Vegas, Nevada NM - New Mexico NY - New York City, New York PH - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Rh - the Roadhouse (Twin Peaks) RR - Double R Diner (Twin Peaks) SC - Sioux City, South Dakota (Yankton Federal Prison) SD - South Dakota SM - Silver Mustang Casino, Las Vegas TP - Twin Peaks, Washington UT - Utah VA - the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia WA - Washington state, outside of Twin Peaks WR - the Waiting Room (Red room) ? - I don't know. Star City Games $20,000 Legacy Open "Philadelphia" Jan 10-11, 2015 - Oaks, PA - Event Information guide from a Local

The main objective of this post is to make sure people are aware that the SCG Event this weekend which is marketed as "Philadelphia," actually takes place in OAKS, PA - a suburb in the greater Philadelphia area. To give some perspective, it is about 40 minutes northwest from the convention center in downtown Center City Philadelphia.
Greater Pennsylvania Convention Center (GPCC) 100 Station Avenue, Oaks, PA 19456
[Google Maps Link]
Players, please take notice!!!! The event is in OAKS, PA - an outer suburb northwest of Philadelphia. The major highway that most players will take is Route 422.
My take on the venue is that it is an older venue but very very large. They have actually held multiple huge events there simultaneously. Bathrooms should not be an issue.
Unfortunately, there are no other businesses nearby or what I'd consider walking distance. The convention complex is sort of isolated, and connected by roads to some other shopping complexes. I will touch on the food situation in separate section.
If you’re flying in from Philadelphia International Airport, I recommend renting a car to get around. I really don’t think taking a cab is economical and the venue is not really public transportation accessible.
Parking: Ample + FREE!!! The GPCC is massive and so the parking area. There is plenty of free parking.
Hotels/Lodging: There are a lot of moderately priced places to stay. Definitely more reasonable than trying to find something downtown. Should be easy enough to find, but here are my picks, sorted from cheapest to most expensive from the time of this post:
Food Options:
The food & eats situation is where moving the open venue from downtown Philadelphia to Oaks really stings the most. The Reading Terminal Market and nearby Chinatown are staple attractions of the Philadelphia gaming experience. I will miss getting a Pastrami Special from Herschel's and being finished eating it before the next round of Legacy starts. On the brighter side, there are plenty of affordable food options within a short driving distance and lots of suitable places to gather for that end-of-day meal with friends.
Unfortunately(and similar to GP New Jersey 2014), there are no places that are in "convenient" walking distance. However, if you have a car all of these places are relatively close and easy to get to.
My current game plan is to sign up for a Moe's account, order online and have someone pick up the order. With all that said, it’s not as dire of a situation as one might believe. I’d actually be disappointed if I hear Patrick and Cedric complain about the food options for this event.
Other Attractions: Stuff for your non-mtg travel companions to do, or stuff to do after you got Griselbranded out of the tournament.
Local Game Stores:
Unfortunately, there are no "very close" game stores that I can recommend nearby the Open venue. If you are looking to jam some games on Friday here are the game stores that most of the local grinders play:
Conclusion: I am really glad SCG went with this venue and I think people will enjoy it, despite it not being in downtown Philly. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I hope we can show that Legacy is NOT dying and that Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs is a great place to hold large tournaments in the future!!
P.S.: I will be editing this post with more detailed info as we get closer to the event. I just wanted to get the important info out there ASAP.

[S3E4]The Lodge, TWIN PEAKS in the 21st Century, and what Few Seem to be Talking About

This essay not only assumes you are current on the new season, but that you are familiar with most or all of Lynch’s film work, so be advised.
We are as it’s been pointed out to counter the hype, and the counter-hype, and the counter-counter-hype, less than ¼ through the entire run of the 2017 TWIN PEAKS.
So my post will have to risk being speculative, arrogant and wrong, because I’m using what I know as a Twin Peaks obsessive and a longtime Lynch devotee to try and give potential insights into some of the more confounding aspects of Season 3.
First I must call more attention to LodgeJabroni’s excellent post which echoed many of my own thoughts about "Mr. C".
It is often a mistake with Lynch to see division or contradiction where there is none. In his dynamic worlds where characters radically transform, subvert their own identities, suffer crises of existence, why should the Lodge spirits themselves not evolve into more expanded and insidious forms? It’s not only the Arm that’s had an evolution.
But my post deals more with the changes in the world in and around Twin Peaks and what they could portend for the coming story. Despite the old complaint that Lynch is only interested in fucking with his audience and in outrageousness and weirdness, he has always been a storyteller – even at his most abstract.
Of course I can’t have time to read all the excellent commentary here and elsewhere. But what I see as more of a lack of observation so far reminds me of someone I’m sure Frost, if not Lynch, respect – Edward R. Murrow, who said "The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer.”
One of the most striking and unnerving (if not displeasing to some viewers) aspects of this Season 3 is the expansion of the playing field to other locations. Geography is a universal language. In Lynch’s universe, the geography is dual – both internal and external. Both are equally “objective” and both are as important as the beings who inhabit it, at the same time that the spaces inhabit and affect the characters.
Another is something that is usually looked at as buried or at least recessive within Lynch as an artist and persona, and something even more hidden in his art – that something, unfortunately, is politics.
I can think of nothing so tiresome and divisive as to try to filter Lynch’s work through modern American/End-Stage Capitalist/Neo-Liberal filters, or social theory.
I don’t want to do that. And yet it is also impossible to look at this new Twin Peaks as a whole, with all its exciting potential, divorced from the world we live in.
There have been a few select times when I’ve heard Lynch (who was described I believe as a Reagan Republican in times past) express his extraordinary dismay at the poisonous turns our economic and political life have taken in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
While it’s true that Lynch will probably never overly date or cheapen his work by referencing current events, or by being self-consciously political, it is also present in some of his work even if only in the background.
In BLUE VELVET he is dealing in part with the drug trade and the abuse and exploitation of women, as he did in TWIN PEAKS originally, and especially in FIRE WALK WITH ME.
In LOST HIGHWAY he dealt with obsessive male sexuality, in particular the American flavor which can lead to murder and could be fostered in part by pornography.
In MULHOLLAND DRIVE we see the corrosive effects of fame-seeking, another highly unique American issue.
Even THE STRAIGHT STORY, Lynch’s “family film,” presents a man beset by socioeconomic issues impacting his family issues, with novel solutions.
And TWIN PEAKS Season 3? Well, aside from whatever “real-world” oriented perspectives Lynch himself might bring, we can’t forget – his writing partner is Mark Frost.
And Mr. Frost, is at least in his Twitter feed, highly politically aware. Just look at his avatar.
Now recall: where are a few of the prominent locations in this new season?
Las Vegas – speculative capitalism, international disposable income gone mad, out of control pre-fab housing developments, and a mysterious wealthy powerful man driving sinister elements in the story, so far barely touched on;
New York – one of the international financial capitals, becoming priced out of most ordinary people’s means, attacked as a “center of elites” BY elites, where a billionaire (perhaps the very one from Vegas) may be deliberately trying to make contact with Lodge entities, who appear malicious in intent;
Philadelphia, PA, and its FBI office – not a new location for TWIN PEAKS, but the tone of the new season to me evokes the very deliberate image from FIRE WALK WITH ME setting the scene, of the cracked Liberty Bell. Lynch’s conflicted feelings about the city, its history, and its decay once again evoke the themes of the deadly turns in the American experiment (like the atomic blast on Cole’s wall).
In the 1990-1991 run of the show and in the feature film, it was quite selective where we saw the Lodge/Waiting Room manifest.
Cooper encountered it through a “dream” in the Great Northern Hotel. (More about this in a little while.) It also sort-of manifested when Josie was taken.
Also a few other geographic locations around town seemed to be on its edge, or at least have denizens like Mrs. Tremond and her grandson on the periphery in our world.
And of course, the entrance at Glastonbury Grove.
The most perplexing and frightening exception was Agent Jeffries’ encounter above the convenience store, although we do not know exactly “where” that was. And how it carried over to the Philadelphia FBI office, if only for seconds or minutes.
But in Season 3? It would appear the “rules” have been ignored or relaxed about where the Lodge and its forces and its denizens manifest:
In New York, in a high-rise billionaire’s project;
In Las Vegas, in Dougie’s vacant tryst home; in a McMansion as the newly liberated Cooper has a vision in, in broad daylight; as traces in a casino perhaps giving “restitution” to Cooper through paying out in slot machines (“mom always said I was born lucky”);
In Mr. C’s crashed car which was moving on a desert highway, coming to try and claim him, once again in broad and very bright daylight around a car type (Lincoln large sedan – Lincoln also on the $5 bill given to Cooper by Jade and later resulting in the casino paying out tens of thousands) associated with the wealthy or gangsters.
And so, with Mr. C bringing the lodge perhaps with him to South Dakota, maybe even he doesn’t know the full implications when he says to Gordon that "I’ve never really left home."
A daydream I had quite some time before the new season was announced, was that Lynch would actually revisit his old work: but oddly enough, I envisioned it being BLUE VELVET, which does seem a spiritual forebear to TWIN PEAKS.
I thought of how poignant it would be to see the older, wiser and inevitably more corrupt Jeffrey, probably divorced from Sandy, involved in new machinations – while Dorothy Vallens had found redemption and now had to save a new generation from the dark undercurrents of the town while trying not to succumb to her old wounds. And the corruption is no longer from a figure like Frank Booth – instead it’s coming from “inside the house.”
The process of corruption has also been at work in in the town of TWIN PEAKS. Far from taking part in the economic and cultural miracle of the 21st Century Pacific Northwest, it seems more depressed, more sparse than before, although the Roadhouse seems well-attended and full of hip acts.
But like that nuclear explosion, the fallout of the Black Lodge which claimed Laura’s mortal life, has spread outward, to major centers of geographic power.
You look at the floor of the Lodge, and you see a pattern that resembles the Egyptian water hieroglyph: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N-water_ripple_(n_hieroglyph), and also the fabled ELECTRICITY, carrying the Lodge denizens.
And the most prominent evocation of the Lodge in the new season’s imagery? “Hiding” in plain sight, in the now very different opening titles to which we already have grown accustomed. Emanating like mist, from the Great Northern’s waterfall, then the curtains billowing upward, like FIRE, then spinning (“The World Spins”) in an impossible to avoid moiré, reminding us perhaps of old TV patterns.
What are Lynch and Frost up to, here?
What is Mr. C up to?
Could it be Worldwide Garmonbozia Harvest Industries?

Hey Rosetta!, a great band from Newfoundland, is on tour in the US this (and next) month, you should check them out.

I first heard about Hey Rosetta! when I was living in St. John's. I was invited out to their CD release show having never heard of them before. I was blown away and have been making sure to see them anytime they swing through Nova Scotia. They are a highly entertaining live show and if you live in or near these cities it would be worth checking them out. I think they are touring with Hot Hot Heat (also Canadian).
Some of my favourites of their videos:
There's An Arc - Very fun video for “There’s An Arc” filmed in the lead singer's (Tim) house. I believe it is all one take.
Red Heart - video for “Red Heart” which is one of their more well known tracks I think. It has been on CBC radio 2 a bunch.
Red Song - “Red Song” is not from any album (Their is an EP of it though) but it is just wonderful.
Black Heart - Live video from the Majestic Theatre in St. John's (incidentally where I first saw them play), thanks to Bumblebeeman for mentioning this tune.
Olympic Video Essay - Stephen Brunt’s video essay on Canada’s 2010 Olympic experience (which ends with “Red Heart”).
